| Emsworth is a picturesque harbour side town steeped in sailing and maritime history, and situated at the top of Chichester Harbour. During the 18th century Emsworth was well known for its traditions of boat building and fishing, including oyster-catching. There are two tidal mill ponds to the east and west, which make for wonderful views across the Emsworth harbour, giving Emsworth its attractive and tranquil ambience. With its two sailing clubs, Emsworth has managed to keep up its nautical traditions too. |

| Today much of the old character and charm of Emsworth centre still remains and can be seen in the sympathetic architectural styles of the town square, the streets, houses, shops and the pubs and restaurants. The Cathedral City of Chichester is only 8 miles to the east of Emsworth, and the historic naval city of Portsmouth, with its cross-Channel ferry services, is 8 miles to the west. |

| Emsworth also has its own train station, which is on the main London Victoria - Brighton line, meanwhile Havant train station (a 10 minute drive from Emsworth) is on the main London Waterloo - Portsmouth line.
No wonder Emsworth is such a sought after place to live and buy property! |
